What is a monobloc kitchen tap?
A monobloc kitchen tap blends hot and cold supplies inside a single-hole mixer body. One lever (or twin levers) lets you set flow and temperature in one smooth movement, so you only need the standard 35 mm tap hole rather than two separate holes.
Are monobloc kitchen mixer taps easy to fit if I’m replacing old pillar taps?
Yes. Isolate the water, blank the second tap hole with a cover plate, drop the new monobloc mixer through the remaining 35 mm hole, tighten the fixing kit and connect the ½″ flexible tails. Allow 30–40 minutes with basic tools; granite or quartz worktops may need a diamond core bit to enlarge the hole.
What water pressure do monobloc taps need?
Most kitchen monobloc taps work from 0.2 bar to 5 bar. If you have a gravity-fed tank in the loft, choose a low-pressure model (≥ 0.2 bar). Homes with combi-boilers or unvented cylinders can pick any of our high-pressure mixers (≥ 1 bar) for a stronger spray.
Will a monobloc kitchen tap fit my existing sink or worktop?
Almost certainly. The industry-standard 35 mm tap hole is pre-cut in 99 % of stainless-steel, composite and ceramic sinks, and can be drilled in timber, laminate, granite or quartz worktops. Our bridge-plate washers let you mount securely on worktops up to 45 mm thick.
How do I clean a chrome monobloc kitchen tap without scratching it?
Wipe daily with a damp microfibre cloth, then buff dry. Weekly, spray a 50 : 50 mix of white vinegar and water, leave 30 seconds and rinse. Avoid abrasive pads or bleach; they can cloud chrome and brushed-nickel finishes.
