Frequently Asked Kitchen Sink Questions

Every sink ships with clips, waste kit and a cutting template where required. Orders placed before 2 pm Monday–Friday leave our UK warehouse the same day with free next-working-day delivery to 99 % of postcodes (remote areas 48-72 hrs). Tracking is emailed as soon as your sink is dispatched.

Use a high-grade, mould-resistant sanitary silicone (clear or colour-matched) around the rim. Apply an even 5 mm bead, press the sink firmly into place, wipe excess with a soapy finger and leave to cure for 24 hours before running water.

If you’re replacing like-for-like (same size and mounting type), most DIYers can swap a sink in an afternoon: shut off the water, disconnect the plumbing, cut the silicone, lift out the old bowl and drop the new one in with the supplied clips, sealant and template. Complex worktops (granite, quartz) or sink size changes are best left to a professional installer.

Bad smells usually come from food residue trapped in the trap or overflow. Flush the pipes with a mix of hot water, baking soda and vinegar, then run cold water for 30 seconds. Fit a strainer basket to stop scraps going down and clean the overflow channel weekly with a pipe brush.

Rinse away food debris, sprinkle bicarbonate of soda over the bowl, and scrub with a soft sponge in the direction of the grain. Rinse, then buff dry with a microfibre cloth. For a mirror shine, wipe over a drop of olive oil. Avoid bleach or wire wool to protect the brushed finish.

First pour a full kettle of boiling water down the waste. If the blockage remains, add ½ cup of baking soda followed by 1 cup of white vinegar, cover the drain and leave for 10 minutes, then flush with more hot water. Still stuck? Use a sink plunger or a drain snake before calling a plumber.
