Frequently Asked Brass Kitchen Tap Questions
What’s the difference between a brushed brass kitchen tap and an antique brass kitchen tap?
Brushed brass is satin-matt and fingerprint-resistant thanks to a hard-wearing PVD coating. Antique (living) brass is un-lacquered; it starts bright and develops a gentle bronze patina over time for a true period look. Both are cast from solid brass and use the same drip-free ceramic cartridges.
Do brass kitchen taps tarnish, and how do I clean them?
Brushed/PVD finishes won’t tarnish—wipe daily with a damp microfibre cloth and buff dry. Living-brass taps will darken naturally; to brighten them, rub a dab of lemon juice and bicarbonate of soda, rinse and dry. Never use abrasive pads or bleach.
Will a brass kitchen tap fit my existing sink or worktop?
Yes. All brass kitchen taps in our range are monobloc mixers that need the standard 35 mm tap hole and connect via ½″ flexible tails, so they drop straight into 99 % of sinks and worktops in around 30 minutes with basic tools.
Do you stock brass kitchen taps with pull-out spray?
Absolutely - check out our brass kitchen tap pull-out models. They hide a retractable hose in the spout for veg rinsing and pot filling, and auto-retract on a weight-and-magnet system so the hose stays out of sight when not in use.
Is brass kitchen tapware safe for drinking water?
Yes. All our brass kitchen tapware is lead-free under BS EN 200 standards, internally nickel-plated and WRAS-approved, so the water that reaches your mug never touches raw brass.
What’s included and how fast is delivery?
All brass kitchen tapware arrives with flexible tails, fixing kit, aerator and a 5- or 10-year manufacturer warranty. Order before 2:30 pm Monday–Friday and it ships the same day with free next-working-day UK delivery to 99 % of postcodes (remote areas 48–72 hrs); tracking is emailed as soon as it leaves our warehouse.
